Music in Nigeria has really evolved over the last decade from artistes jumping on ill organized beats and very embarrassing lyrics to making classic tunes that has been exported outside the shores of the nation as a standard commodity . We are grateful for the evolution of music but we cannot forget those who paved the way for the growth of this resource .
Here are our Top 5 forgotten artistes in Nigeria over the last decade in no particular order.

1. Azadus

With songs like You is The One, Madam etc, Olalekan Fadeyi a.k.a Azadus is not a rookie when it comes to the Nigerian music industry. During his hay days as a top artiste , hardly would a show promoter stage an event without Azadus performing. He was once a Kennis Music artiste, which shot him into a superb limelight but just like a flower which glows in the morning but withers in the evening though

2. Rasqie
Abdul Razak Lawal was known as the Nigerian Usher during his glory with his smashing tune A Ti Ready and signing a deal with Kennis Music, we thought we will never get enough of him but how time can change , I saw him the other week hassling his balance with a motorcycle rider .

3. Black Face
Being a very versatile artiste in his prime Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo Blackface Naija is best known as the co-writer of African Queen and the maker of smashing song Hard Life. Black Face went into oblivion after trying to come back with albums upon albums with little or no recognition. I guess it was really a hard life.

4. Zule Zoo
In its ironic meaning Zule Zoo means – The forgotten warrior never dies, they were wrong because their careers died as soon as Nigeria music scene took a twist.  With their forever funny song Kerewa , the duo had their fair share of limelight which saw them make N.B.C’s ban list.

5. Jazzman Olofin
Muyiwa Olofinkuade was one of the first Nigerian artistes to sign a real deal with a record label Storm Records . The Raise the Roof crooner has been invisible ever since the new wave of artistes came to game, he was probably scared of competition.

We have other artistew like Kenny Saint Brown , Wadada , Eddie Remedies , Marvelous Benjy and the illustrious Mode 9 who would have also made the list. Well in the words of the Nigerian Comedian Gordons, “Mode 9 isn’t dead but his career is
